United States Donates $2 million to Help Fight COVID-19 in Algeria

The United States Embassy in Algiers is proud to announce that the United States is contributing $2 million in assistance to help in the fight against COVID-19 in Algeria and mitigate its impact on Algerian society.  The United States’ support for Algeria reflects the longstanding close ties between our two peoples.

This financial support will be channeled to organizations working in cooperation with the Algerian government to fight the virus.

Months into fighting this pandemic in the United States and abroad, America remains the largest single donor country to the response globally.  Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the United States has committed more than $900 million worldwide in emergency health, humanitarian, economic, and development assistance.
