U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Todd D. Robinson Visits Algeria

Assistant Secretary Todd D. Robinson of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs traveled to Algeria from November 18 to 21 to engage with Algerian officials and to discuss key initiatives in border security and countering transnational crime.

During the visit, Assistant Secretary Robinson met with the Secretary General for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lounès Magramane, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities, the Ministry of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, the Directorate General for National Security, the National Gendarmerie, and Algerian Customs.

Assistant Secretary Robinson also engaged with like-minded partners on the importance of transparent, accountable, and effective justice systems as essential elements for good governance.

This high-level visit underscored the commitment of the United States of America to partnering with the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to advance bilateral cooperation and enhance law enforcement capabilities.
