The U.S. Embassy and the Berlitz Center in Algiers are pleased to announce the tenth edition of the El Amel English Language Camp. The Camp targets economically disadvantaged students, aged 15-25, at various levels of English proficiency.
The 06-week El Amel Summer Camp will start July 20, 2017 and end August 31, 2017. Participants will meet three days each week for two hours each day. In addition to studying English, they will practice public speaking and writing skills and participate in extracurricular activities. Expert Berlitz English Language instructors will teach the curriculum, and American guest speakers will augment the program. Selected students must commit to the full 6-week program. El Amel Summer Camp will take place in Algiers, Batna, and Oran.
The El Amel Summer Camp is completely free of charge, but slots are limited. Potential participants must apply via an online application and complete an online English aptitude placement test. Online applications must be completed by July 13. Berlitz and U.S. Embassy staff will interview selected applicants in the final stage of selection. Students will be notified upon selection.
