The U.S. Embassy in Algiers has partnered with World Learning, a global development and exchange organization delivering education programs worldwide, to organize an international English language education conference in Oran on April 28-30. The conference, themed “Teaching English in the 21st Century,” is dedicated to strengthening English language teaching skills in Algeria.
More than 1,000 teachers, scholars, and education professionals from all parts of Algeria attended the three-day academic event to learn, network, and develop teaching skills through 60 hands-on workshops, presentations, and talks by more than 30 leading international and Algerian experts in English language teaching.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, U.S. Ambassador to Algeria Elizabeth Moore Aubin said, “Highlighting the newest developments in the field of ESL, this event will bring critical skills and methodologies for both new and experienced teachers from across Algeria… We at the U.S. Embassy stand together with you in [English language learning] goals, and that is why we are honored to sponsor this conference.”
The conference reflects the commitment of the U.S. Embassy in Algiers to partner with the Algerian government and professionals in the education sector and to support Algeria’s nationwide initiative to advance English language learning.
